ATM Security And Measures
Precautionary measures in order to avoid misuse of their PIN/ ATM/ Debit/ Credit card:

Protecting the ATM Personal Identification Number by user by not writing it down, not revealing it to any known/ unknown persons or in response to request through e-mail, etc. It must also be ensured that no person other than the actual owner of the card can view the key pad while the PIN is being entered.

To be wary of "help" in carrying out an ATM transaction.

To be wary of anything strange or suspicious about an ATM machine or in its vicinity including signs of tampering or attachment of additional fixtures like skimming device, transparent overlays on ATM key pads, tiny Cameras overlooking the key pads etc, and suspicious looking people or somebody trying to look over the shoulder to get the PIN number, etc..

To periodically verify the transaction history to ensure its correctness. Any unauthorized card transaction in the account, if observed, should be immediate reported to the Bank.

To ensure that the card is swiped in the presence of the card holder.

To immediately inform the bank if the ATM/ credit card is lost or stolen. Presence of suspicious additional flexures at a payment terminal/ ATM machine or receipt of an unsolicited call or e-mail asking for personal information should also be immediately brought to the notice of the bank.
