Scope & other details for Data Center shifting work

 

The Data Center is catering anywhere banking services to more than 280 branches of the bank all over the country. In addition the same center is also providing all delivery channel based services like ATM, Internet Banking, Mobile phone banking etc. This makes the center to work 24X7 with out down time for certain services.

 

Approximately 15 application are live at the center out of which 3 application are critical, 2 are semi critical and rest are non critical. The critical application can have maximum 8-10 hours scheduled downtime, semi critical can have planned downtime of 12-15 hours while non critical can have a down time of 24-28 hours.

 

The hardware used for these applications are high end IBM RS6000 servers, besides other low end Unix as well as Intel based servers. Networking equipments consists of CISCO 3600 routers, Layer three and layer two switches, Firewall and IDS.

 

The center is connected with approximately 300 centers of the bank all over the country. About 140 locations are connected with point to point leased line taken from BSNL/MTNL. The other locations are connected using VPN services of HCL/ VSNL/HECL VSAT connectivity is also provided at the center. Internet connection has been taken from VSNL at the center to provide Internet access to all its offices / branches.

 

The bid is invited for shifting of these services / equipments from existing location to other location in same city. The vendor bidding needs to give a commercial offer for the work. The bank intends to give the complete work as turnkey project which involves:

 

  1. Planning the methodology for shifting operations which involves Hardware shifting, Network shifting, data shifting and then shifting operations.
  2. Discussion of the proposed methodology with the Bank official and approval of the same from Bank.
  3. Informing bank about the requirements (additional hardware, networking equipments, services, down time schedule etc) which is necessary to enable the shifting exercise.
  4. Liaison with the concerned vendor for executing the plan.
  5. Completion of execution and ensuring that all operations have been shifted to new location and functional as per schedule.
